So! If I’ve been a bit MIA it’s because I’m in Lily Dale this week, and I’ve just been super busy in general getting a few random projects on the go and/or wrapped up. Last night I took a fun crystal healing through the chakras class! It was neat!
The information given was pretty basic - what crystals work best to open the energies of each chakra, and a few different sample layouts for different purposes. We learned a chakra balancing layout, something for heartbreak, and something for comfort, and then the rest of the class was hands-on application. (There are many different ways of using crystals for healing, but in this class we focused on the laying-on-the-body method.) It was a pleasure to exercise my healing skills again, since it’s been a while! I got told by a few ladies that I had really great healing energy - one woman who I was working on said my energy was gentle but very focused. It’s always nice to get compliments from talented healers, especially when I don’t practice healing very often, as it opportunities rarely present themselves!
I eventually laid down on the table myself to get a healing, just a simple chakra alignment. One of the ladies picked up on my slightly messed up knee from riding a too-small bicycle for too long, so that was awesome, and I’m not feeling any knee pain at all anymore, knock on wood! When everyone started working on me, my breathing changed almost instantly became strong yet shallow, and I felt very heavy and concentrated yet thin, if that makes sense - somewhat like ice, yet not in temperature. I mentioned that, and after a few minutes I felt and saw wisps of dark/negative vibes drift away from me. I felt lighter, and I felt a strong chakra core down the midline of my body. Fun times!
Had a conversation with my mother about tapping into non-human energies for healing and magical purposes, and she seemed concerned that many people use it as a crutch. IMHO, that’s a bit anthropocentric - personally, I love learning from stones, crystals, herbs, trees, flowers, animals, and everything in between. There’s so much knowledge out there, if we only are open to listen. No, you don’t need stones for healing - you can also cleanse your chakras through focused meditation, and you don’t need herbs to make spells work. I love learning from these non-human entities, and I love working with their energies. However, it is true that many people feel incompetent as healers or witches without objects to help them along. As energy workers, we shouldn’t ever become dependent on our tools, but we should see them as they are - energetic beings in their own right, with their own wisdom, knowledge, and medicine to share with us.
In other news, I took a basic astrology course tonight! It was fun! I used to draw out astrology charts but it’s been many years since I’ve buried my head in the astrology books, so I’d forgotten much of it and was very glad for the refresher. Fantastic speaker as well, very animated and knowledgeable.
I have a bunch of other fun stuff planned throughout the week, so if I’m scarcely on the internets, please forgive me! On the menu so far: a course on solitary seances with Raymond Buckland, drumming on the beach, chakra balancing through yoga course, and a course on reading tea leaves. Fun!
Namaste all! xx
